Adult Invisalign

Adults with orthodontic concerns sometimes assume that it’s too late to get help. However, that’s not the case. At Merna Tajaddod Orthodontics in Palo Alto, CA, we offer adult Invisalign options to help you achieve the beautiful smile you have always wanted.

How Invisalign Works

Invisalign is a type of orthodontic treatment that uses clear trays to correct issues that may be affecting your smile. Invisalign can help treat:

Expansion
Arch development
Aesthetic alignment
Tooth protrusion correction

Invisalign works by gradually shifting your teeth into proper alignment. To achieve this, you must wear the trays for at least 20 hours a day. The aligners work like traditional braces but offer more freedom and comfort.

Benefits of Invisalign in Palo Alto

Nearly Invisible

For adults, one of the things that might keep you from getting the orthodontic help you need is worrying about people seeing your braces. That’s not something to stress over when you choose Invisalign. The trays are almost invisible, allowing you to get the help you need while maintaining your privacy.

Removable

You can also remove the Invisalign aligners when you need to. This allows you to enjoy foods you would not have been able to consume with traditional braces. Being able to remove the teeth aligners can also help you maintain your oral hygiene, which can be more complicated with regular braces.

Shorter Timespan

Another important benefit that Invisalign offers is that treatment does not have to take years. The time it takes for Invisalign to work is often shorter than with traditional braces.

Comfortable

Invisalign is also a more comfortable option than traditional braces. With metal braces, there’s a chance of not getting a perfect fit. The metal pieces may rub against your mouth and cause sores. That doesn’t happen with Invisalign. Each tray is made via digital printing and fits your mouth perfectly.

Affordable

Invisalign can also be more affordable than traditional braces. We’re in-network with Delta Dental and happy to help you find the most cost-effective solution for your treatment.

Beginning Treatment

To get Invisalign in Palo Alto, the first step is to set up an appointment with us. We can then assess your smile to determine whether Invisalign is the best option. If it is, we will begin by making impressions of your bite and taking a few X-rays to ensure that the aligners fit the way they should.
With all of this information, a lab will create the aligners—a process that usually takes up to two weeks.
At your next appointment with us, we will make sure that the trays fit correctly. You will go home with the next several weeks’ worth of custom aligners and the appropriate schedule for switching to the next set of aligners in your treatment. The number of aligners you will need depends on the severity of the condition we’re treating.
For those with more complex orthodontic issues, we also offer hybrid orthodontics, combining traditional braces with Invisalign.
